The Director of BSI, Naba Aji Notoseputro, mentioned that the process of transforming from Akademi BSI to UBSI had been ongoing for quite some time. “This transformation is part of BSI’s preparation to face the disruptive era,” said Naba Aji in a release received. He added that BSI has been active in higher education for 30 years. This development has made BSI one of the largest higher education institutions in Indonesia, with six academies, 25 campuses across Indonesia, and approximately 20,000 active students. “The Bina Sarana Informatika Foundation initiated the idea of uniting the 21 campuses owned by BSI into one large university,” he added.
The transition to a university is also a step towards making BSI one of the largest universities with excellent accreditation. Additionally, it is an effort to improve the quality of the education system and enhance the competence of its graduates. Students, whether in regional areas or the capital, will experience equal rights in terms of the learning system, competency development, and career opportunities available to UBSI graduates. “This transformation into a university will benefit the entire BSI academic community, including students, faculty members, and alumni. For example, students from the diploma program will find it easier to continue their education to the undergraduate level. In the future, Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika will have four faculties: Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Communication and Language, and Faculty of Economics and Business,” he explained.
From these four faculties, Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) offers 19 programs of study, including Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, English Literature, Computerized Accounting, Information Management, Secretarial Studies, Business Administration, English Language, and Advertising. Additionally, there are programs in Public Relations, Broadcasting, Tax Management, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Management, Communication Science, Information Technology, and Software Engineering.
