rogram Mission Preparing distinguished scientific competencies in the fields of Geography and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) through an outstanding academic staff and modern scientific curricula based on contemporary digital geography methods and techniques, ensuring quality at the local and regional levels. Program Objectives Developing students’ scientific and technical abilities in Geography and GIS. Enhancing students’ research skills. Providing students with specialized knowledge in Geography and GIS. Training students in practical skills in Geography and GIS and preparing them technically. Focusing on equipping students with the fundamental concepts of Geography and GIS. Developing students’ abilities to solve general geographical problems in society and the environment using GIS and remote sensing technologies. Learning Outcomes Knowledge and Understanding Skills Present and demonstrate knowledge, concepts, principles, and general theories in geographical studies. Understand the distribution of natural resources, public services, and their components, and apply this knowledge in database management and practical uses of modern technologies such as remote sensing (RS) and GIS. Acquire skills in using modern technologies and applying them in specialized fields. Gain knowledge of climatic, hydrological, and environmental studies related to natural resources and sustainable development issues. Cognitive (Mental) Skills Study and analyze natural resources that support life to enable the state to plan urban and tourism cities, using RS and GIS applications to meet individual and societal needs. Connect and compare knowledge, concepts, principles, and general theories in natural and human geographical studies with modern technologies (RS – GIS). Scientific / Professional Skills Apply students’ scientific capabilities and geographical skills in the fields of environment, natural and human resources, contributing to sustainable development. Prepare geographical research and studies in natural and human fields using modern technologies (RS – GIS). Develop solutions to problems related to the distribution of natural resources and public services using modern technologies (RS – GIS). General and Transferable Skills Communicate effectively with organizations and institutions working in population geography studies and in environmental, natural, human, economic, and urban resource fields. Use modern technologies (RS – GIS) and communication tools in professional work tasks. Form teams to raise awareness of natural and human geographical studies and public services, and to apply modern technologies (RS – GIS) within Yemeni society. Work collaboratively on scientific and research projects in natural and human geography and public services using modern technologies (RS – GIS), contributing to resolving local and regional societal challenges and conflicts.
