About Aisyiyah University Bandung

History of the Development of UNISA Bandung

'Aisyiyah University Bandung is one of the charities of the 'Aisyiyah Regional Leadership (PWA) of West Java. It was established in 1972 as a Nursing Regulatory School (SPR) based on the Decree of the Ministry of Health number 51/E.V/Pend/72 issued on July 30, 1972. This SPR has produced as many as 600 graduates who are ready to work and have been established for approximately 9 years.
On December 16, 1981, the SPR changed to the Health Nursing School (SPK) through the Decree of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 166/Kep/Diklat/Health/1981. In 1990, PWA West Java also opened the Independent Midwife education program. Furthermore, in 1992, the BKKBN Midwife Education program was opened. From 1993 to 1996, SPK opened the Independent Midwife and Village Midwives Education program. In 1997, the midwife education program only accepted independent education programs, which was also the last batch of the midwife education program.
On June 23, 1999 SPK changed to 'Aisyiyah Bandung Nursing Academy through the Decree of the Ministry of Health number HK.00.06.1.3.1774. So since the 1999/2000 school year 'Aisyiyah Bandung Nursing Academy began to accept students of the Diploma III Program in nursing education until now.
Referring to the Master Plan for the Development of Regional Leaders of 'Aisyiyah West Java, in 2007 the 'Aisyiyah Bandung Midwifery Academy (AKBID) was established, in accordance with the Recommendation of BPPSDM Ministry of Health No.HK.03.2.4.1.01834 and the Permit of the Minister of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia. No.85/D/0/2007 and the extension of the Permit of the Minister of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia. No.3115/D/T/K-IV/2009 on August 14, 2009.

To meet the needs of nursing personnel at the undergraduate level, the Academy of Nursing and the Academy of Midwifery 'Aisyiyah changed its form to the College of Health Sciences (STIKes) as the basis for the opening of the S-1 Nursing study program based on the Decree of the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Ministry of National Education and Culture Number: 169/E/O/2012 dated May 14, 2012.

On August 12, 2014, STIKes 'Aisyiyah Bandung, obtained a permit to establish and implement the Nurse Professional Program through the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 305/E/O/2014. The Nurse Profession Program is carried out as an effort by the high school in meeting the needs of the community for professional nursing personnel.

On October 17, 2018, STIKes Aisyiyah obtained an operational permit for the Bachelor of Midwifery and Midwifery Profession Study Program through the Decree of the Ministry of Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 909/KPT/I/2018. Based on the Decree, in the 2019-2020 academic year, STIKes Aisyiyah Bandung held the First Batch of Midwifery Undergraduate Education.

In 2018, STIKes Aisyiyah Bandung transferred its Organizing Body from the Aisyiyah Regional Executive of West Java to the Central Executive of Muhammadiyah. This was done in accordance with the instructions of the Central Executive of Muhammadiyah.

Based on the application letter of the General Chairman of the Central Executive of 'Aisyiyah Number 239/PPA/A/X/2019 on October 28, 2019 regarding the application for the merger of the Syahida Tasikmalaya Midwifery Academy and the 'Aisyiyah College of Health Sciences Bandung, as well as the recommendation letter of the Head of the Higher Education Service Institution Region IV Number T/249/L4/KL.00.00/2019 dated September 9, 2019 regarding the feasibility of merging the Syahida Tasikmalaya Midwifery Academy with the 'Aisyiyah College of Health Sciences Bandung.

So on September 28, 2020, the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia granted permission to merge the Syahida Midwifery Academy in Tasikmalaya City organized by the Syahida Komunika Foundation and the 'Aisyiyah College of Health Sciences Bandung in the city of Bandung organized by the Muhammadiyah Organization into the University of 'Aisyiyah Bandung in the city of Bandung, West Java Province.
