About Koya University
Koya University is a public University that established in 2003 and gives Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. degrees in the fields of Engineering, Science, Social Science, Humanities and Art, and medicine. Koya University is a teaching and research University.
At Koya University we are committed to providing a truly inspiring education, promote our students, producing leading research and benefiting the communities in Kurdistan. Our purpose is to improve life for individuals and societies. We aim in line of innovation and excellence in all that we do, we make both knowledge and discoveries matter. The support the University provides to students is a foundation upon which self-reliance and habits of lifelong learning are built: Koya University expects that the free education and good working collaborative environment fosters in its students will lead them in their later lives to advance knowledge, to promote understanding, and to serve society. The students shall see themselves as assets to future of Kurdistan. Koya University's goals are set at engendering substantive education to help ensure that both faculty and students thrive and excel in their fields of interest. To achieve this, the University shall endeavor to: - Become known as a center of educational integrity and excellence by ensuring a high quality of education at the local, regional and global levels; - Become known as a center for research and education dedicated to collecting, developing and disseminating substantive knowledge to benefit Kurdistan as much as the world at large; - Maintain an ideology of academic freedom, independence of thought, equality among all and at all levels; dedication to the idea of democracy and freedom, and contribution to the local and regional community in service and sustainable development.
