About National University for Defense
The National University for Defense "General Juan Pablo Duarte y Diez" (UNADE), is a higher education organization dependent on the Ministry of Defense (MIDE) of the Dominican Republic, composed of six (6) faculties, with graduate schools, military academies, and technical and specialized centers for military training. The University focuses on providing specialized education tailored for defense and security sectors. While the university is currently under review, it aims to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in various fields related to the security and national defense. The institution emphasizes practical training and theoretical knowledge, fostering a strong sense of duty and responsibility among its students. The university's commitment to developing future leaders in security and defense is evident in its curriculum and community engagement initiatives. UNADE changed its category from a specialized institute of higher education to a university through resolution no. 31-2023 issued by the National Council of Higher Education, Science and Technology (CONESCyT).
