A university with countless opportunities to learn

I’ve really enjoyed my experience at New Anglia University so far. One of the things I value most is having opportunities to put what I learn into practice. Being able to apply the knowledge rather than only focusing on theory makes the learning experience much more interesting and rewarding. It’s been a great way to build confidence and make the material feel more meaningful.

i love my life here

After spending more than a year at NAU, I have had sufficient time to experience student life in Anguilla beyond the academic environment. Moving to a completely different country for medical school was a significant personal decision, and adapting to a new environment required some adjustment. I have come to appreciate the opportunity to live somewhere with a very different pace and atmosphere from what I was accustomed to. The island also provides a clear separation between university responsibilities and personal time, which I have found useful during demanding periods of study. My experience of Anguilla has become an important part of my overall experience at NAU rather than simply being the location of the university.

NAU taught me a much better understanding of the sciences

I have particularly appreciated the scientific side of the programme. Learning subjects that are directly connected to medicine has made me more interested in understanding how the human body works, and I enjoy being able to connect different areas of what I study.

The people here make a difference

The student community at NAU has made my experience even more enjoyable. I have met people from many different countries during my time here, and some of those friendships have become a really important part of my life. Having people around who understand the experience of medical school makes the demanding periods much easier to get through.

Premed Allowed Me To Be More Disciplined With Independent Study

The online format has required me to become considerably more disciplined with my time. There is a certain amount of responsibility that comes with studying from home, because I have to make sure that I remain consistent with revision and do not allow difficult topics to accumulate. I now keep a much more organised study routine and try to review material while it is still fresh. This has been an important development for me because medical education requires a sustained level of independent study, and I think the habits I am developing now will remain useful later.

I am in my first year of MD and immediately felt comfortable

The professors have been very kind to me so far. I do not always speak up immediately when I am confused, so I really appreciate when they check whether everyone has understood the material.

Second Year of the MD

I am currently in my second year of the MD programme, and I feel much more comfortable with the expectations of medical school now. The workload is still demanding, but I know how I need to approach my studies and where I need to put my attention.
